The Queen City Conquest (or QCC) is a gaming convention, taking place Aug 30 - Sep 1, 2013, at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. We welcome all types of gaming, including Role Playing Games, War Games, Board Games, Collectible Card Games, and more. Join us for a fantastic weekend of gaming enjoyment. This is our second year, and we are looking forward to building a great convention with you.

Warrior Rogue & Mage

Howdy folks. This is your friendly neighborhood GM Chris "The Light" Sniezak here. For the next nine months I'll be highlighting some of the games you can get in on at the Queen City Conquest, Buffalo's very own Gaming Convention. I like anime and fandom just as much as the next guy but if you love gaming and want three days of it then this is the place to be. Getting back to the point the first game I'll highlight is called Warrior, Rogue & Mage.

Economics

So, now that Registration is Live, and I'm actually asking for money, I thought I should talk about the Economics of a convention. I'm going to talk a little bit about where we are spending money, and where we are hoping to make money back.

Expenses
It takes a lot of money to run a convention. Fortunately, it doesn't need it all at once. There are three major categories for expenses. Space, Operating Fees, and GM Rewards. You can add in a 4th if you plan on having special guests. We are not currently doing that.

Event Registration is Live

You may now purchase your Badges, Generic Tickets, and Event Tickets through this website. You will find links to each of these items in the Navigation menu to the left.

Generic Ticket

You can use Generic Tickets to participate in an Event that has open seats.
Each Generic Ticket is equal to 2 hours of play time. To participate in a 2-hour event, you only need a single Generic Ticket. To participate in a 4-hour event, you need two generic Tickets.

$1.00

Badge

$10.00

A Badge grants you admission into the doors of the convention.

Don't forget to pick up tickets for individual events as well!

First Time to a Convention? Read This!

If this is your first time to a convention, then you are in for a real treat. For people who enjoy gaming, a convention offers you the chance to spend a whole weekend playing games you enjoy, meeting other gamers who enjoy the same games as you, and trying out brand new games that you've always wanted to play but never had the chance.

To help you get the most out of your convention experience, this guide will help you do some preparation and planning.

Events, Game Masters, and Registration

Our Event List has exploded with games in the past month. Thank you to everyone who has signed up with an event so far. The success of the convention rides on the shoulders of our Game Masters. I can't do enough to show my appreciation for each of you. And we still need more Game Masters. If you have a friend, family member, postman, or stray dog who would like to sign up to host an event, please send them our way.

Child Care

One of the ideas for this convention is that we want it to be a very family friendly event. We had the idea of having a limited availability for child care services. The purpose of this is to encourage parents to bring their kids, play a couple games with them, but also have the ability to drop the kids off for at least one session of the day, and enjoy a game of their own, and then return to gaming with their kids. Or something along those lines anyways.

Status Update 3

Once again, I'll start with old news first.

Event Submission is complete. We've got a lot of events already listed and more coming in every day.

Registration is pretty much ready to go out the door. I'm just waiting until after the new year to push the button and turn it on.
The same goes for the Insurance Policy.

As stated before, the Licenses and the Sales Tax have both been cleared. We don't need either.

Event Submission is Live

Event Submission is Live.

Please feel free to submit any event you wish to run at the convention. Each event will be put into a holding bin for review by our Event Coordinators. Once your event is approved (usually within 24 hours), your event will appear on the Event List. If your event does not meet approval for some reason, we will email you about the event, and see if it can be modified in some way.

If you have an issues with the Event Registration, please let us know here. Thanks.

We will turn on the ability for people to sign up for events after the new year.
